A plain visit to the website stores nothing that can identify you. Your theme and cookie choice stay in your own browser.

We count how the website is used ourselves, without cookies and without storing anything on your device. For a visit we record which pages you view, roughly how long, how far you scroll, which buttons and links you click, which website you came from, which country you are in and whether you use a phone, tablet or computer. For a trial request we also count how far it gets: whether you open and send the form, whether your key appears, and if something goes wrong, which kind of error it was, for example a missing email address. We do not see what you type, where your mouse is or what you enter in forms. To keep the pages of one visit together, our server turns your IP address and browser type into a code that changes every day; the IP address itself is forgotten straight away and never stored. We do this based on our legitimate interest and share these figures with no one. We keep the individual data per visit for thirty days; after that only daily totals remain. If you do not want your own visits to count, open a page with ?ll_notrack=1 after the address; that choice is kept only in your own browser.

For a trial or purchase we ask for your name, e-mail address, country, printer and whether you use Mac or Windows; business customers also give their company details. We use them to deliver your licence, which the contract requires. We store your name and e-mail address encrypted.

If you start a trial, Koert, who makes LumenLabel, may e-mail you personally to ask how it is going and what you think of it. That is real contact, not advertising, based on our legitimate interest. In every e-mail you can tell us you don't want any more. You only get updates, news and offers if you tick the box for that.

When you start the trial you can also tell us how you found LumenLabel and, for a search engine, what you searched for. That is optional; we use it only to see which channels work, and it is kept with your trial at Polar.

Payments and licence keys go through Polar (United States), which has payments processed by Stripe. They receive your name, e-mail address and payment and billing details. Their own privacy policies apply to that. We send the emails about your trial and purchase through mailbox.org (Germany), which also hosts our own mailbox. For that, mailbox.org processes your name, your email address and the content of that email.

Downloads and updates come from a European download network, which uses your IP address for that.

If you e-mail support, we keep that conversation for as long as we need it to help you.

With your consent we use Google Analytics to see how the website is used. Google (Ireland and the United States, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) processes that data. Without consent we do not load Google Analytics and send nothing to Google. If you withdraw your consent, we stop straight away and remove the Google Analytics cookies from your browser.

Google Analytics sets cookies, and only after you accept. If you open the payment form to buy a licence, Stripe, which processes payments for Polar, sets cookies to make the payment work and to prevent fraud. You can change your choice for Google Analytics at any time with the button below or at the bottom of every page.

Your designs and files stay on your own computer. The app uses a code derived from your computer to tie your licence to at most two computers and to prevent misuse of the trial, based on our legitimate interest.

When you set up a printer, you can use a button to tell us which printer it is and how it answered the app's technical questions, without serial numbers. That report contains no personal data and is only sent when you click.

If something doesn't work, you can send us a support report from the app's Support menu. The app only sends it when you click. It contains the app and system versions, your settings without file paths or names, details of your printers, a summary of recent print jobs without what was on the labels, and the app's logs with names, file paths, addresses and keys removed. You get a short code to mention when you e-mail us, so we can find your report. We use it only to help you, based on our legitimate interest.

We keep checkout details without e-mail consent for one year, with consent until you unsubscribe. Polar keeps order records as long as tax law requires. We keep statistics for fourteen months and the computer codes for the trial for twelve months. Encrypted backups of the checkout details are kept for thirty days, on our server and with a European storage service. Support reports from the app are deleted after 90 days. The individual visit data of our own counter is kept for thirty days; the daily totals are kept after that.

You can ask for your data, have it corrected or deleted, object, or withdraw your consent via support@lumenlabel.io. You can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

If anything changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
