Privacy statement

LumenLabel is made and sold by Uniqoeleur, a Dutch company registered with the Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 81458169. Uniqoeleur is the controller for the personal data described on this page. Questions and requests go to support@lumenlabel.io.

The website is a set of static pages served from a server at Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany. The web server does not keep an access log, so a plain visit leaves no record of your IP address with us.

Two settings are kept in your browser's local storage, not in cookies: your light or dark theme choice and your cookie choice. They never leave your browser.

When you start the trial or a purchase we ask for your name, e-mail address, the printer you use, Mac or Windows and your country. Business customers can add a company name, VAT number and billing address for the invoice. A separate, unticked box asks whether you want e-mail about LumenLabel; we record that choice with the date and the version of the text you agreed to.

The form is protected against bots with ALTCHA, a small puzzle your browser solves locally. No third-party captcha service is involved.

Our checkout service stores the name, e-mail address, printer, platform and marketing choice in its own database on the same server. IP addresses are used only to limit abuse, and only as a keyed hash that cannot be turned back into the address; those counters expire within a day. The service's technical log contains request identifiers and error codes, not names or e-mail addresses.

Purchases and trials are handled by Polar (Polar Software Inc., United States) as merchant of record. Polar issues the invoice, handles VAT and processes card and wallet payments through Stripe. Polar receives your name, e-mail address, billing details and payment details; card numbers never reach us. Polar also generates your licence key. Polar's and Stripe's own privacy policies apply to that processing.

Installers and update files are delivered through Bunny (BunnyWay d.o.o., Slovenia), a European content delivery network. Like any download server, it sees your IP address in order to send you the file.

E-mail to support@lumenlabel.io is received and stored at mailbox.org (Heinlein Hosting GmbH, Germany). We keep support conversations as long as they are useful for helping you, and we ask you to leave real label data out of screenshots.

We use Google Analytics 4 to learn which pages help and where people get stuck, and to count trials, downloads and purchases. It runs in Google's consent mode.

Before you make a choice in the cookie banner, Google Analytics sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. It does receive cookieless signals such as the page, the referring site, the type of device and a rough location that Google derives from your IP address without storing the address. Google uses these to estimate totals.

If you accept, Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_* so that visits from the same browser can be counted as one visitor. We have switched off Google Signals and advertising personalisation, IP addresses are anonymised, and reports are kept for fourteen months. We also send events such as "trial started", "download clicked", the purchase amount, and the number of FAQ search results. These events never contain your name, e-mail address or licence key.

Separately from Google, we count on our own server how often the cookie banner is shown and how often Accept or Decline is chosen. These are only totals with a timestamp. We do not store an IP address, a cookie or anything else that could identify you.

The data is processed by Google Ireland Ltd and Google LLC in the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. If you decline, nothing changes for you on the site.

The only cookies on this site are the Google Analytics cookies described above, and they are set only after you accept. You can change your choice at any time with the button below or with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. We ask again after twelve months.

The app is a separate thing. Your designs, spreadsheets, PDFs and print jobs stay on your computer and are not sent to us. The app contacts our services only to activate and periodically check your licence and to check for updates. The app contains no analytics.

Checkout contact details without a marketing opt-in are deleted after one year. With an opt-in they are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them. Order records stay with Polar for as long as tax law requires. Google Analytics reports are kept for fourteen months.

You can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to processing, or withdraw the marketing opt-in at any time by e-mailing support@lumenlabel.io. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

When the website starts doing something new with your data, this page is updated and the date at the top changes.
